Telecast offers HD POV fiber link
Telecast Fiber Systems, a vendor of portable and fixed fiber-optic systems for television broadcast production, has introduced a new high-definition point-of-view (POV) fiber link for video, audio and data transmission applications.
The new TR5442 POV dual-fiber bi-directional link is available as either rack-mount or "throw-down" modules. Each module transports broadcast-quality video from a remote POV camera, return video/genlock back to the camera, four bi-directional audio signals, tally/closure signals, and two full-duplex control data signals for both camera and PTZ platforms. In addition, all signals are digitally and optically multiplexed for bi-directional transmission on two optical fiber conductors.
Also available from Telecast is the Viper II TR5900 Ethernet module for high-speed data transfer over fiber. The TR5900 offers broadcasters a flexible, plug-and-play media converter for convenient and reliable Ethernet signal transfer. The module enables reliable data transmission over one single-mode optical fiber for distances of more than 15 miles.
