Telecorps Communications buys Coffey Sound
Telecorps Communications has announced its acquisition of Coffey Sound, a Hollywood, CA-based company that has served the audio industry for nearly two decades. Coffey Sound rents, sells and repairs audio equipment for the film and television industry, and has established itself as a key player in the industry through its early adoption and support of emerging audio technologies.
Telecorps is comprised of three broadcast industry veterans with more than 120 years of experience in media and media technology. With the financial backing of H.I.G. Capital, a Miami-based private equity firm, Telecorps is pursuing a strategy focused on acquiring leading companies servicing the media and entertainment industries, particularly the production and post-production markets. The Coffey Sound acquisition comes one month after the company's purchase of Wexler Video, a leading video production equipment rental company.
Rob McConnell, CEO of Telecorps Communications, acknowledged the strategy, noting that Coffey Sound was selected for its combination of knowledge, experience and reputation. John Coffey will be retained as its president.
