Argentinean broadcaster Telefe recently transitioned its news operations to a digital news production workflow with full MXF compatibility.
The broadcaster, which is using a Just Edit vsnscenes system, has ushered in a dramatic change for the live program production chain. For the first time, Telefe’s workflow makes full use of nonlinear access to media in a simple and transparent way.
At its broadcast center in Buenos Aires, Telefe installed a complete vsnnews MXF system, featuring 38 newsroom computer system news licenses, 25 vsnscenes workstations to browse-edit Sony XDCAM proxies, six network post-production suites, one 450-hour shared video server that is mirror-protected, six automatic ingest channels, a two-channel vsnaairnews studio playout video server, integrated graphic generator and synchronized teleprompter.
The main benefit Telefe has experienced is the integration between its news and archive areas and compatibility with MXF XDCAM files.
