Victory Sports, a Midwest-based 24-hour sports network, is the first customer for Telestream's MAPreview, a product that allows the capture, organization, search and review of live video feeds. The cablecaster now uses MAPreview as a tapeless system for around-the-clock compliance recording of sports programs and commercials, and plans to rollout additional MAPreview features during next year's baseball season.
The system uses Windows Media 9 files, which have greater efficiency than typical MPEG-2 compression while maintaining similar image quality. MAPreview also automatically records metadata with the image and audio information, which allows the system to automatically index, reformat and archive content across a network.
Telestream is a Nevada City, Calif.-based manufacturer of management, distribution and conversion products for video, including ClipMail and FlipFactory.
