Teranex introduces Mini DTV converter
The Teranex Mini is a portable palm-sized DTV format converter that can be used as a stand-alone DTV format converter.
Teranex will introduce two new hardware platforms at the 2005 SMPTE Technical Conference in New York City later this month.
The Teranex Mini is a portable palm-sized DTV format converter that can be used as a stand-alone DTV format converter. Three Minis can be rack-mounted in a 1RU shelf. Applications include NLE ingest/playout conversions, SD camera upconversion, HD VTR downconversion, and driving plasmas and projectors at their native rate (up to 1080p60). SD/HD SDI I/O with embedded audio is standard, with an option for DVI, HDMI and analog component out.
The XMR is a companion to the existing XM modular platform. It fits in the same Grass Valley Kameleon chassis as the original XM, and uses the same Newton control panel, SNMP, and Web control infrastructures. Teranex’s newest modular product is not a replacement for the current XM module, but an alternative for budget conscious customers. With SD/HD SDI I/O and embedded audio it is well suited for high-density applications, such as OB vans and network feed centers.
