TerreStar Requests Satellite Launch Date Extension

published TerreStar Networks Inc. has requested an extension of the launch milestone date specified in its authorization for the TerreStar-1 satellite. This system will use a portion of the 2 GHz spectrum the FCC reallocated from the broadcast auxiliary service to the mobile satellite service.
TerreStar Networks requested an extension of the current November 2007 launch date to September 2008. The company said it expects to meet its in-service milestone date of November 2008 and "bring online North America's first 4G integrated mobile satellite and terrestrial communications network."
