Thales to Be System Architect for French MaLigne tv
France Telecom announced that Thales will be the systems integrator for the MaLigne tv video-over-DSL system that is being built in the Paris metropolitan area. The service has been available in parts of Paris starting March 29 and will be rolled out in districts as the construction continues.
MaLigne tv was launched in Lyon, France, in December and is now fully operational in that city. The system gives subscribers the ability to access video-on-demand as well as programming from satellite TV operator TPS. The architecture of the system is based on the Smartvision TV platform developed by Thales.
