HD Formats Primer: A look at HDCAM. DVCPRO HD. 1080i. 720p. In the HD age, it’s important to understand what all these formats represent and why they are needed. Topics of review include the ATSC standards, as well as what formats are most broadcast.
The HD Edit Suite: An Overview: This session will cover a variety of nonlinear editing systems that work in HD as well as the equipment that surrounds it. Higher end editing systems used in finishing and digital cinema will also be discussed. NLEs, monitors, sync generators, upconverters and other HD essentials will be covered.
Editing HD over Firewire: Final Cut Pro HD: Using Firewire: It’s now possible to capture HD in a compressed format as good as the camera original tapes. Session focuses on working with Panasonic’s DVCPRO HD in Final Cut Pro HD.
