ChinaTel Group establishes wireless broadband application center
ChinaTel Group has set up a wireless broadband applications center in Taipei, Taiwan, to provide advanced applications for next-generation wireless communications services.
According to the Ministry of Economic Affairs of Taiwan, the estimated total value of WiMAX will reach $4.5 billion in Taiwan alone.

Big Screen Entertainment Group Signs Deal with Ifilm Rights
Big Screen Entertainment Group (BSEG) has set up a partnership with Ifilm Rights in England to allow BSEG to distribute its films directly to IPTV broadcasters.
In addition, IFilm has given Big Screen more than 50 titles to sell at the American Film Market Nov. 5-12. Two new online download sites are also under construction for BSEG’s titles that will be available for download directly to consumers.

UTStarcom chooses Optibase encoders for Indian IPTV headend project
UTStarcom has selected Optibase as part of an integrated IPTV solution for United Telecoms Bangalore (India)’s Goa Broadband Network.
UTStarcom’s RollingStream advanced IPTV solution, incorporating Optibase’s H.264 streaming platforms, will provide Goa's customers with broadcast-quality TV and advanced on-demand entertainment services over IP networks.

KIT digital acquires Visual Connection
KIT digital has acquired privately held digital media and IPTV solutions provider Visual Connection for $2.5 million and other future consideration subject to future performance.
Through its headquarters in the Czech Republic and sales offices in Bratislava (Slovakia), London, and Dubai, Visual Connection offers content digitization, localization and IP-based editing, storage, video players and content streaming.
