Thirteen Stations Sign On With Digital Signals
(October 8, 2003) Washington, DC--Thirteen more stations have joined the list of television stations broadcasting in digital, bringing the total number of DTV stations on air to 1,037 in 202 markets that serve 99.35% of U.S. TV Households.
The 13 stations include WTBY, New York, NY; WDCQ, University Center, MI; WTVJ Miami, FL; WAGT, Augusta, GA; WLBT, Jackson, MS; WFTE, Salem, IN; WWCP, Johnstown, PA;·KMVT, Twin Falls, ID; WDSI, Chattanooga, TN; ·WOLF, Wilkes Barre, PA; WSIU, Paducah, KY; KEDT, Corpus Christi, TX; and· KBDI, Broomfield, CO.
In addition, 81.41% of the more than 106 million U.S. TV households are in markets with five or more broadcasters airing DTV and 55.83% are in markets with eight or more broadcasters sending digital signals.
