Thomson will showcase the new Grass Valley EDIUS SP SDI, a PCI Express acceleration and interface board for nonlinear editing on a standard PC platform, at NAB2007.
The base software for Grass Valley's EDIUS SP SDI is EDIUS Broadcast NLE version 4.0, which supports multiple layers and multiple formats in real time.
The EDIUS SP SDI version provides hardware-based acceleration and broadcast quality input/output interfaces using SDI interconnection for SD-SDI. Embedded audio is supported by EDIUS SP SDI, and a breakout box is available for analog audio I/O, component video I/O and frame accurate RS-422 VTR control.
Thomson has announced that the product will be available in the first quarter of this year.
