Thomson Receives Second Technical Emmy
Thomson was also among the winners at the 59th Annual Technology & Engineering Emmy Awards for Science, Engineering & Technology for Television, organized during CES by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS). It was the 20th Emmy Award that Thomson has received, and was granted for the company's Granite MPEG Monitoring equipment, in the category of "Monitoring for Compliance Standards for ATSC & DVB Transport Streams."
Thomson said that this Emmy Award results from the on-going success of the Granite MPEG Monitoring range of equipment and continued R&D effort to support forthcoming standards and formats such as H.264 and transport over IP. This is the second Technology Emmy for Thomson's test and measurement products, the other being for its real-time MPEG Analyzer, which was awarded in 1999.
"We're honored that Thomson has once again been recognized for all the hard work and dedication that our engineering teams devote to developing technologies, products, and systems that our customers need to be successful," said Jacques Dunogué, Senior Executive Vice President of the Systems Division within Thomson.
