Leader's LV5700A multistandard HD/SD waveform monitor was chosen for use at Thomson Broadcast and Media Solutions' HD camera production plant in Breda, Netherlands. The LV5700A features a 1,024 x 768 pixel XGA TFT display screen, and will be used to align LDK 6000 and Viper FilmStream HD cameras, used in electronic cinematography. Thomson's Breda plant already uses the company's 5152DA HD-SDI waveform monitor.
The LV5700A's combination of multiformat video and audio waveform display, vectorscope, eye-pattern and picture monitoring makes the unit popular for HD and SD applications, said Paul Vos, managing director of Leader's European master distributor, elQuip. Additionally, it is compatible with a range of HD-SDI video line, frame and field rates, and SD-SDI systems. Analytical capabilities include transmission over error detection, gamut error detection and data dump display. The video sampling rate can be switched between 74.25 and 74.25/1.001 MHz in HD mode or to 13.5 MHz SD.
