Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) based in Santa Anna, Calif. has selected the Image Server 2000 from 360 Systems for its transition from VTR to digital format for installation at 26 of its 30 stations.
Integrator/installer TV Magic said it chose 360 Systems' Image Server 2000, a new generation of video server, for TBN because of its reliability and tech support.
"We needed a company that would work with us during development and give us excellent tech support," said Pat Thompson, vice president of Operations at TV Magic. "There are a lot of servers on the market and we felt the Image Server 2000 was the most reliable, versatile and cost-effective for our client."
The TBN religious network reaches more than 12,000 TV and cable affiliates worldwide. TBN said it needed the ability to ingest and playback local content with closed captioning information through an automated system at an affordable price point with industry proven reliability.
"We're totally changing the paradigm of how we work," said Ben Miller, Trinity Broadcasting vice president of engineering. "We used to record local programming to tape for play-to-air -- now we're operating digitally through servers with much more flexibility and affordability for the number of stations in our network."
