Trio Video Outfits New HD Truck with Fujinon
Chicago-based mobile production company Trio Video is outfitting "Tango," its first HD truck, with nine Fujinon HD studio- and ENG-style lenses.
Trio's new 53-foot rig, expected to hit the road by the end of the year, is also equipped with nine Grass Valley LDK 6000 mkII HD cameras. Trio Video owner Jack Walsh says the company presently does most of its projects in SD, but was prompted to buy HD equipment and downconvert the signal for its sports and entertainment clients after receiving an increasing amount of requests for HD production.
Along with five XA87x9.3ESM and four HA22x7.2BERD ENG-style lenses, ranging in focal lengths of up to 2300 mm, Trio's order includes one of Fujinon's XA101x8.9BESM HD lenses for 2/3-inch HD CCD cameras and features focal lengths of 8.9-900 mm (1x) and 17.8-1800 mm (2x).
Trio provides mobile production for hundreds of live sports, entertainment and corporate events annually, including coverage of Chicago's pro baseball, basketball and hockey franchises.
