T-Systems uses Scopus Platforms
Scopus Network Technologies is supplying German business services provider T-Systems, a Deutsche Telekom subsidiary, with DVB head end platforms for digital TV and radio transmissions over a satellite and ATM infrastructure. Scopus will also provide hundreds of professional receivers for T-Systems’ network of reception sites throughout Germany.
T-Systems will utilize Scopus’ technology and platforms for business TV applications and to allow regional program insertion. Scopus’ platforms form the backbone of T-Systems’ new digital video broadcasting platforms and are based on Scopus’ Codico product line.
Scopus’ platforms encompass encoders, multiplexers, network management and access control systems, the Intelligent Video Gateway (IVG), as well as hundreds of professional IRDs for reception sites. T-Systems is expanding its main head end in Usingen, Germany, and its platforms in Milan, Italy, and Berlin, Germany, which were previously equipped by Scopus in 2003.
