Turning Point, based in Lakeside, CA, is a production company that creates religious programs seen across the country on a variety of networks. It rolled out a new 45ft mobile production unit in January and outfitted it with new HD lenses from Fujinon. The new lenses offer improved image quality and faster zoom speeds than their previous lenses.
The new production vehicle was recently used to cover church services at Shadow Mountain Community Church in El Cajon, CA, Turning Point events across the United States, and ENG work.
As the broadcast ministry of Dr. David Jeremiah at Shadow Mountain Community Church, Turning Point (DavidJeremiah.org) captures the services, music and sermon on Sundays at the church. Jeff Larson, Turning Point’s director of television and radio production, said the new production truck travels between their post-production facilities in Lakeside and the church every week. The truck is used exclusively for Turning Point and is not leased out for other productions at this time.
Turning Point bought six Sony HDC-1400 cameras, each equipped with a Fujinon HA42x9.7BERD lens. The company chose Fujinon HA22x7.8 BERD lenses for two additional cameras, which are used for audience reaction shots and a wide-angle view of the stage. A sixth camera, which is on a jib, uses a Fujinon HA13x4.5 BERD lens. Turning Point also uses a Sony PDW-355 XDCAM camcorder with a Fujinon HS16x4.6BERM lens for ENG work.
