TV Record improves transmission monitoring, compliance and ratings analysis

TV Record, a Brazilian television network headquartered in Sao Paulo with 68 affiliate and O&O stations throughout the country, has upgraded its transmission monitoring, advanced compliance and ratings analysis.

The station is using one eight-channel and one four-channel Observer system from Volicon to accomplish this infrastructure improvement.

The Observer system addresses several needs for TV Record. The network wanted a way to ensure that signals from its headquarters were being transmitted to its stations without error. It also needed a way to meet the Brazilian government's programming-compliance standards, and a simple method of analyzing its stations' ratings. Prior to working with the Observer, network staffers were undertaking these tasks through a VHS-based system. This process took many hours each day and also required searching through a large, cumbersome video archive library.

Now, with the Volicon Observer, TV Record staff members will be able to record, store, search and retrieve media, in real time, from multiple broadcast sources. Users can view and manipulate the material from any desktop in the facility, as well as export it outside the facility via Volicon's proprietary streaming media engine. They can retrieve and analyze video clips with metadata, locally or remotely. Material is automatically stored for up to a year, and content can also be archived onto DVD for shelf-storage.
