Harris and TVE are working together again.
The Spanish national broadcaster is extending its operations with Harris and adding an additional terrestrial and satellite channels. TVE has also ordered a second Harris ADC-100 system.
TVE already transmits its thematic channels using the ADC-100 system from Harris Automation Solutions.
The architecture of the new system is based on two redundant pairs of device servers that will be linked to the existing network. The first server will be nominally dedicated to acquisition, caching from four Sony LMS robot cartridge libraries into the central Seachange server network using Harris¹s Global Media Transfer asset management software.
The second server will be used for broadcasts via Miranda Presmaster mixers and a Thomson Venus routing switcher. The LMS robots can broadcast direct to air if required, however, and a single Aston Motto character generator is available as a shared resource.
The intention is that these channels should operate largely automatically: two Air Client output controllers are provided for the eight channels. Any of these Air Clients can be used in conjunction with any of the device servers and thus any attached equipment.
