U.K.: HD Education Conference Heads for Cambridge
The university city of Cambridge will be the site of the United Kingdom’s first big education conference on HD. Speakers and presenters, so far, will include educators, broadcasters and film professionals from the University of California, Sony, the BBC, and Al-Jazeera.
One organizer of the conference has already raised the question, “High definition technology raises many issues, for instance, can we believe what we see is real anymore?” according to the Cambridge Evening News.
The Cambridge Arts Picturehouse was permanently installed with an HD projection system more than a year ago, which will be used to demonstrate some of the HD content for the meeting.
The Oct. 10-11 event will be held at Anglia Ruskin University, with the key support of the Film and Digital Media Exchange in Cambridge. For more information, e-mail to: saint@fdmx.co.uk.
