Utah Scientific has acquired Sandar, a European manufacturer and distributor of routing switchers serving Northern and Eastern Europe and Asia. The acquisition gives both companies added reach into new markets. The move adds small format routers to Utah Scientific’s range of mid-sized and large scale systems.
Roar Ostby will serve as managing director of the newly named Utah Sandar division, to be based in Sandefjord, Norway. Utah Sandar will continue to sell and service the existing Sandar family of routing switchers, as well as the full line of Utah products. Sandar recently developed a new family of compact (3 x 3 to 32 x 32 I/O) routers that use the same control software as those from Utah Scientific.
