U-Verse HD offering grows to 27 channels, reports paper

published AT&T is offering subscribers to its U-Verse IPTV service 27 high-definition channels, according to a report in The Wall Street Journal.
According to the story, AT&T’s HD offering exceeds the number of high-definition channels available on most cable systems. For instance, the story reported that the nation’s largest cable provider, Comcast, delivers about 20 HDTV channels in many of its markets.
On Dec. 5, AT&T and HDNet announced they had entered into a distribution agreement giving the telecommunications giant rights to deliver HDNet and HDNet Movies as part of the AT&T U-verse TV channel lineup.
