VCI Acquires Digital Transaction Group
Video Communications (VCI) announced the acquisition of Digital Transaction Group (DTG), Austin, TX, supplier of automation software systems for the broadcast and cable industry. DTG’s automation system resides on an extensive multi-layered platform, Xe (pronounced “Zee”). Xe’s architecture is one of the most influential factors of the acquisition, leading the merged companies in a new global direction and expanding their product portfolio.
DTG will now operate as a new division of VCI in Austin, TX, called VCI Automation. “DTG is proud to be a part of the VCI team and the vision they have for the future” said James Brown, General Manager, VCI Automation, formerly DTG. “The synergy created by merging our companies will expand our capabilities and strengthen our core resources.”
“We are excited about the acquisition and the opportunities it will afford our two companies going forward. Together with our business system, Orion and the revolutionary technology of Xe, we will be able to provide the industry with a single solution for a total content delivery platform,” commented Lowell Putnam CEO, VCI. “DTG is a good fit with VCI, sharing a commitment to deliver the right tools to the industry. The future is bright and possibilities endless.”
