VDS, a broadcast automation software developer based in Farmingdale, N.Y., has recently acquired the assets of Broadcast Software Solutions (BSS), an Atlanta-based broadcast industry hardware and software supplier.
VDS plans continued marketing and support of BSS products and stated that former BSS customers can still contact the company’s Jerry Rankin for product sales.

"The BSS products offer high quality and performance at very attractive price points and are in use at hundreds of customer facilities in North America. VDS will continue to offer these products, provide new enhancements for existing customers as well as offer ongoing support to those customers with BSS products."
BSS started operations in 1994 and is known for its line of master control-oriented character generators, as well as its software products for graphics automation.
