Verimatrix Expands San Diego Headquarters
Verimatrix, setting the standard in content security technologies that enhance the value of pay-TV networks, announced that the company has relocated its headquarters offices to a new dedicated facility at 6825 Flanders Drive in the high-tech heart of San Diego. The greatly increased space in the new facility more comfortably and efficiently supports current company operations and provides for the anticipated growth of the business, including substantially expanded engineering and interoperability lab space necessary for systems integration and quality assurance.
The company signed a multi-year deal to occupy the entire 16,545 square foot location, which will house the company’s research and development team, customer support, sales, marketing and executive management team. Verimatrix has grown substantially over the last year and anticipates that it will increase its headquarters workforce by 50 percent in 2007. Recently the company also expanded its Asia Pacific operations with the opening of the Hong Kong office. Verimatrix currently has offices in Boston, Atlanta, London, Amsterdam, Vienna, Singapore and Tokyo.
“The significant growth of Verimatrix is further validation of our success in delivering the highest standard of content security and revenue generation technologies for digital video networks,” said Tom Munro, CEO of Verimatrix. “The company is dependent on the high caliber of our employees and we want to continue providing them the best possible work environment. The upgrade to our HQ environment is a major milestone for Verimatrix as we plan for the future.”
Over the past year, Verimatrix has reached several significant milestones in its history. In 2006, the company surpassed its 1 millionth set-top box license protected by its flagship Video Content Authority System (VCAS); it was ranked number one global leader for content protection from research firm MRG; VideoMark was deployed with two major customers, which is the only forensic watermarking solution deployed in the marketplace; VCAS 2.0 was launched with advanced security and revenue generation features; it received a significant Series B round of funding from Crescendo Ventures, Mission Ventures and Siemens Venture Capital; and the company won the AeA High Tech award for the Outstanding Emerging Growth in San Diego.
