Verizon, LIN TV Strike Retransmission Agreement
LIN TV Corp. recently reached an agreement for retransmission of programming by Verizon's FiOS TV service. The deal provides LIN programming to FiOS subscribers in all LIN television markets.
"We are pleased to be partnering with an industry leader like Verizon to offer LIN TV station viewers a rich experience and provide households with more choice and competitive pricing," said Vincent L. Sadusky, president and CEO at LIN TV Corp.
LIN TV owns and operates 31 television stations in 18 U.S. markets and also in Puerto Rico.
The agreement allows Verizon to distribute LIN TV's locally produced content, including newscasts, in both analog and HD in LIN markets where FiOS service is available. The deal also gives Verizon permission to distribute LIN content as Video on Demand offerings.
The new service will be available first in the Norfolk, Va. area, with LIN's WAVY-TV and WVBT-TV being carried.
