Verizon's FiOS to Add Three HD Channels
By TVTechnology
published Verizon said this week it plans to add HGTV HD, Food Network HD, and LMN HD (Lifetime Movie Network) to its HD menu starting this weekend or sooner.
The company said the additions would increase the total number of HD channels in most of its FiOS fiber-optic markets to about 30 (including local broadcasters airing some HD content). Verizon FiOS subscribers with HD set-top boxes will be able to receive the three additional channels at no additional charge.
The Verizon TV service currently serves nearly 210,000 subscriber homes encompassing parts of 10 states, with more growth expected in other regions later this year.
