Video Technics introduces its video clip server
Video Technics Apella v2.5 is a multichannel server with 1GB of DDR RAM. It features fully redundant, hot-swappable power supplies, upgradeable components and storage, and an open architecture. The server requires no third-party system for playout or ingest, and it offers a Windows service for client/server network operation.
There are 20 metadata fields auto-created for each clip. It also has an internal reference clock and horizontal and vertical phase. The server can support DV25, DV50 and 4:2:2 MPEG-2 compression formats. Apella is a scalable system using off-the-shelf storage that can easily expand as a station’s needs grow. It delivers compatible compression formats that play well with others. It supports a mixed database of both DVCPRO/DVCAM/DV25/DV50 and MPEG-2 clips. Apella can dramatically improve workflow by directly importing OpenDML AVI, and QuickTime clips.
