Videotek's Digital Prodigy hits homerun for Toledo Mud Hens new broadcast control room

Videotek's Digital Prodigy was selected to cover all the bases for a Toledo, Ohio, AAA minor-league baseball team's new broadcast control room.


Videotek's Digital Prodigy is a serial digital production system capable of six layers of video, 24 wipe patterns and stereo analog through 32-channels of embedded digital audio. It is in use at a new broadcast center in Toledo, OH.

ProVideo Systems, who installed the new broadcast control center, selected Videotek's Digital Prodigy to capture images of every strike, curve ball and grand slam via closed circuit TV.

Digital Prodigy is a serial digital production system capable of six layers of video, 24 wipe patterns and stereo analog through 32-channels of embedded digital audio. It also includes a ‘plug-in and play’ features for the 601 operation.

The Digital Prodigy now has SDI input with FrameCapture, store and recall capability. Additional features include 10 primary cross points, two upstream keyers, two downstream (one optional) keyers and five standard serial digital video inputs. NTSC/PAL, CAV, SDI options are available up to a total of four. There are also optional analog audio follow frame(s) expandable to 16 levels and optional digital audio follow frame(s) expandable to 32 levels.

The new closed circuit broadcast center at Fifth Third Field was built to route feeds to a large video display in the outfield as well as the television monitors located in the stadium’s 32 luxury suites.
