UK MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) Virgin Mobile has purchased a suite of mobile platform services from InfoSpace enabling its subscribers to search the Web, WAP sites and the company's own portal and storefront for any type of content or information, regardless of its origin or format, using a single search box.
The mobile provider also purchased a customized, integrated mobile search solution. The solution integrates search software, relevancy algorithms and crawling and indexing technologies from FAST Search & Transfer, a developer of search technologies; Web-to-mobile content adaptation technology from another partner, InfoGin; and InfoSpace’s metasearch technology.
