Vitec Group acquires RF Central, Nucomm
The Vitec Group has announced the acquisition of RF Central and Nucomm. Total RF, a rental company and subsidiary of RF Central, was not included in the acquisition.
Founded by CEO Jeff Winemiller, RF Central delivers state-of-the-art microwave equipment to television broadcasters throughout the United States. An excellent fit with Vitec’s Broadcast Systems division, RF Central is a key addition to the company’s newly formed Vitec Group RF Systems unit. As part of the agreement, Winemiller will continue to lead RF Central.
Nucomm, established in 1990 by founder and president Dr. John B. Payne, offers a comprehensive line of portable and fixed link microwave systems that will fit seamlessly into the Vitec Group RF Systems unit. Under the agreement, Payne, along with vice president of engineering John Payne IV, will continue to lead Nucomm.
Vitec’s acquisition of RF Central and Nucomm will allow the Vitec Group RF Systems unit to provide customers with an array of products and services designed to meet any microwave need, from single systems to extensive networks. In addition, Microwave Services Corporation, a microwave systems repair and maintenance company, will join the team in the near future.
