Vyvx to unveil 270 Mb/s fiber network dedicated to live broadcast backhaul use
Vyvx is launching the Vyvx HD VenueNet, a 270 Mb/s fiber network for live broadcast backhaul this month.
Vyvx HD VenueNet was designed with broadcast customers in mind. Working hand-in-hand with broadcasters, Vyvx designed an effective HDTV fiber solution to meet their needs and lower their costs.
The system’s fiber infrastructure increases transmit capabilities to more than three times the bandwidth currently available via satellite. It also uses 270 Mb/s local loops at the points of origin and destination, eliminates HD codecs and uses a self-healing MPLS architecture.
System users can choose from low-cost Mezzanine-level compression, customer-compressed ASI streams or customer-muxed streams of any mix of feeds including analog and digital.
When it goes online, Vyvx HD VenueNet will be the largest HDTV fiber network in the United States. The service will use industry-proven Vyvx VenueNet reservation and transmission procedures.
Initial deployment will include 17 professional sports arenas across the country.
