Warner Debuts First Title in HD DVD, Blu-ray and Standard
Warner Home Video will reportedly become the first studio to simultaneously release the same motion picture title on both Blu-ray and HD DVD formats--along with its standard DVD issue--on Sept. 26.
"The Lake House," a film released in theaters earlier this summer starring Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves, will hit shelves in all three formats simultaneously (although it's not yet known how many major retailers plan to carry all three formats).
According to published reports, Warner Home Video plans to issue the title in a combo HD DVD/DVD release, and on a separate Blu-ray BD-25 disc, which is the single layer configuration. (Therefore, there apparently will be no standard-only DVD disc issued.) Details on special features for the two next-gen formats have not yet been announced.
