WBIR automates with Crispin
WBIR purchased Crispin’s System 2000 suite of applications in 2004 to support traffic translation, satellite recording, media ingest, asset management and device control.
WBIR, an NBC affiliate in Knoxville, TN, called upon Crispin to provide additional software, equipment and services to streamline the station’s on-air playback, media acquisition and device control capabilities.
The new expansion includes one additional channel of playback of NBC’s Weather Plus programming as well as local commercials and pre-recorded local weather forecasts. This will be accomplished using Crispin’s RapidPlayX on-air playback application and an additional Dubber workstation to support WBIR’s increased ingest demands. The expansion required the station to add four ports to DeviceServer, Crispin’s device control application, to accommodate a variety of newly installed broadcast devices.
