WCPO-TV in Cincinnati has upgraded its facilities using NVISION's integrated array of routing and control systems.
The new hardware includes an NV8256-Plus digital video router, an NV7256 digital audio router, an NV5128-MC multichannel master control switcher and an NV9000 control system.
The facility’s digital video router is configured for 32x32 HD/SWB, and 128x128 SD-SDI plus 64x64 analog video. The digital audio router will handle a mix of AES-format and analog audio signals.
A. F. Associates designed and integrated the new 60,000 sq ft building. It features Omneon SPECTRUM media servers, 10 edit bays, five high-end edit suites, four graphics suites, as well as two identical on-air studios and companion control rooms.
WCPO-TV’s master control system features two channels of SD and one channel of HD switching, each with multichannel audio. The companion video router handles HD and SD signals. The station’s primary HD broadcasts occur in prime time, but it wanted full HD compatibility through the Omneon video servers. Joe Martinelli, WCPO-TV's head of engineering said they have already received orders to play HD spots for its digital station, WCPO-DT.
