WNCN-TV Selects Calrec Zeta for Audio Upgrade
WNCN-TV in Raleigh, N.C. has selected a 48-fader Calrec Zeta digital audio console to upgrade operations and improve program quality. The console was part of a renovation completed in 2006 at the NBC affiliate.
The station, one of Media General's 23 network-affiliated television stations, decided on the Zeta to replace a 10-year-old analog board because operators were familiar with Calrec Audio products and also because of its reputation in the industry, according to the companies. The U.K. broadcast specialist concentrates on audio mixing for on-air and live production.
The Zeta was designed for use in all types of production environments. Its features include hot-swappable cards and panels, as well as intelligent redundancy on system-critical elements.
Henry Quintana, WNCN's director of new media and operations said, "The Zeta provided the best value for the dollar. Not only does it have an outstanding feature set, it's also easy to learn and operate."
