WNYW Installs Chyron for HD
WNYW, the Fox Television Stations Group flagship New York station, is using three Chyron HyperX2 graphics systems as part of the station’s move to high-definition operations.
“WNYW is one of the most innovative and respected broadcasters in the United States,” said Kevin Prince, Chyron’s chief operating officer. “That they have chosen to further enhance their look, feel and mobile image ingest capabilities with Chyron is something that is of demonstrable benefit to WNYW viewers in any resolution.”
The three systems will be used in connection with broadcasts of live news and events.
WNYW also added a Chyron CAMIO cluster redundant video server system that will be used for graphics and news content storage.
A Chyron WAPSTR multimedia messaging gateway was also installed as part of the HD makeover. The WAPSTR technology will enable mobile phone still pictures and video clips to be uploaded directly into the station’s newsroom system.
