WRNN-TV selects Crispin automation for new digital facility
WRNN’s new New York studio will be under the frame-accurate control of Crispin System 2000 software.
WRNN-TV, a regional news network seen in more than 5 million cable homes — including all five boroughs of New York City — is now running a suite of workflow applications from Crispin at its all-digital production center and studio in Rye Brook, NY.
The station selected Crispin’s System 2000 suite of applications to support asset management, satellite recording, media ingest, device control, traffic translation and control of two channels for on-air playback. The solution includes 11 workstations.
WRNN is using several Crispin solutions, including:
- The ArchiveManager combined with an external near-line RAID to archive assets.
- The Dubber application to control multiple source devices.
- The RapidPlayX for on-air playback.
- The TurboBrowser, a companion application to RapidPlayX, that searches and finds video clips within the station’s system.
