YAGER STEPS DOWN AS NAB CHAIRMAN AFTER 2-1/2 MONTHS
By TVTechnology
published The NAB is hunting for a new head this week after James Yager, CEO of Barrington Bcstg., resigned Tues. as joint board chmn. of the association. Yager stepped down after just 2-1/2 months in the position after learning that his wife, Patsy, had cancer. Yager, a former NAB chmn., was a compromise choice to head the organization again in June when the TV board couldn't decide on another broadcaster for the post. We're told that the NAB originally expected to name a successor to Yager Wed. But, after the NAB Exec. Committee held a conference call, the full board learned that a new chmn. wouldn't be named until next week.
