Analysts place media, broadcast tech supply market value at $11 billion
The media and broadcast technology supply industry has a value of $11.6 billion and will grow 11.4 percent year on year, according to the results of a new study conducted for the International Association of Broadcast Manufacturers (IABM) by Screen Digest.
Eleven IABM members, including Avid Technology, Axon, Harris, Miranda Technology, Pro-bel, Quantel, Siemens, Snell & Wilcox, Sony, Thomson Grass Valley and The Vitec Group, helped the association and the analysts to segment and model the industry. That effort divided the market into 10 segments representing the major technical and operational parts of the industry. Each segment is further defined into subsegments and product groups.
More than 40 manufacturers worldwide contributed several years of confidential data for analysis, and more than 200 manufacturers participated in one-to-one interviews and released company information for analysis.
The end product of the 10-month effort is a 200-page report that forecasts industry growth to 2010.
