ATCi provides satellite antenna system for FIFA World Cup distribution
One of Europe’s largest cable operators has deployed Antenna Technology Communications’ Simulsat C/Ku Multibeam technology to provide coverage for the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany.
With its ability to receive information from up to 35 satellites simultaneously, Simulsat technology is providing a key component for the World Cup. Once the signals are gathered by the Simulsat, digitally formatted and uplinked, the digital programming is being delivered to 10 million basic cable subscribers in more than 12 million homes. Essentially, one Simulsat C/Ku does the work of 35 steerable parabolic antennas in the space of one-and-a-half antennas.
