Australian Broadcasting Corporation picks NETIA again

NETIA announced today that the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) has purchased the Radio-Assist 7.5 digital audio content management software solution for on-air delivery in all seven of its News and Current Affairs and Radio networks across Australia. NETIA’s Australian agent, Syncrotech Systems, and the ABC, will install the system over the next 18 months.

The newly purchased Radio-Assist program replaces the current NETIA solution and D-CART systems and will be installed on up to 5000 workstations across approximately 75 of ABC’s capital city, regional, metropolitan and output sites. The Radio-Assist 7.5 range of digital audio software programs covers the entire operation of a radio station, including acquisition, sound-file editing, commercial and music production, scheduling, multicasting, administration and more.

According to Syncrotech Systems managing director Paul Heaton, the new NETIA Radio-Assist 7.5 software will be utilized throughout the entire ABC Radio Network and includes a high level of integration with iNews for the news department. As a result, ABC’s network traffic will also increase.

To address this, the NETIA USHARE integrated bandwidth management tool was integrated into the Radio-Assist software. This optimizes the exchange of audio and video content throughout the network without incurring additional bandwidth costs, ensuring a comprehensive broadcast, production, delivery, distribution and bandwidth management/archive solution for the Austalian Broadcasting Corporation.
