Barco launches new broadcast monitoring system
At IBC2007, Barco announced the launch of version 2.1 of its Networked Broadcast Monitoring System (NBMS), a hardware/software suite that enables operators to monitor the broadcast process more efficiently and visualize real-time video content on rear-screen projection modules or LCD panels. The NBMS is specifically designed to support high-quality, low-latency distribution of video sources and metadata over an IP network to multiple screens.
The launch of NBMS 2.1 adds of a new standalone display controller and three new hot-swappable modules, which are front-accessible from Barco's 10-slot NBMS chassis: the NGP-001 Display Controller, the eight-channel NGS-103 input module, the NGS-104 Communication and Interface Module and the NGS-107 General Purpose IO Module.
Barco also demonstrated interdisplay color calibration capabilities with the introduction of the latest addition to its family of LCD displays — the LC-3001 30in display, designed for high-density video monitoring.
In addition, the company launched its high-bright OV-D2 rear-projection video wall displays for backdrop applications, using a 3 x 3 OV-508 50in 180W dual lamp video wall system. The high-bright edition of the new OV-D2 series has been designed to deal with specific light conditions in news studio environments.
