BMS to introduce second generation Truck-Coder

The Truck-Coder II includes a rack-mounted control and IF unit and a mast-mounted upconverter and power amplifier.

Broadcast Microwave Services (BMS) will introduce its second generation Truck-Coder II (TCII) at NAB 2005.

The two-unit system includes a rack-mounted control and IF unit and a mast-mounted upconverter and power amplifier designed for ENG vehicle field use.

The Truck-Coder II improvements make the operator interface much easier to use. An unlimited number of presets allow station engineers the flexibility to provide operators a preset for multiple scenarios.

Other new Truck Coder II features include:

  • Bright Selector panel display for clear viewing and easy operation;
  • Front panel Ethernet port for field upgrades and preset configurations.

The TCII is configured to operate in the 2GHz frequency band plan accepted by Nextel for BAS rebanding. As an option a second RF unit can be added allowing selectable operation at either 2GHz or 7GHz.
