Two major broadcasting standards organizations were featured at the IBC convention this month. Member companies of the Internet Streaming Media Alliance (ISMA), AVC Alliance and the Pro MPEG Forum demonstrated audio and video products and technology.
ISMA and AVC demonstrated seamless interoperability between standards-based audio and video products. The video and audio quality gained by implementing technologies such as AVC/H.264 and HE-AAC were showcased. Member companies Apple, Envivio, and Fraunhofer participated.
The Pro MPEG Industry Forum presented a seminar that shared perspectives on the future of MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 and other emerging MPEG technologies used in audio and video equipment, software and delivery. Industry experts exchanged views on the trends and technologies that are changing the way digital audio, video and multimedia is created, compressed and delivered.
