Calrec announces new technology application for IBC2006
At IBC2006 in Amsterdam, Calrec Audio will unveil its award-winning Bluefin High Density Signal Processing on the Sigma digital console. The introduction of Bluefin on the Sigma enables the desk to handle 320 fully equipped mono-equivalent channels, packaged as 108 stereo and 104 mono, and configurable up to 52 full 5.1 surround channels.
Bluefin also boosts the Sigma’s buss structure, giving it the same bussing capabilities as a classic Alpha console, including 20 auxiliaries and 48 multitrack outputs. Additionally, Bluefin allows operators to introduce 19.6 minutes of audio delay — divided into 432 mono elements of up to 2.73 seconds each — which can be positioned in the audio path anywhere the operator needs to achieve the desired compensation. Other benefits include extra metering capability, additional EQ in the channels and groups and more inserts for outboard plug-ins.
Calrec will also show its Zeta digital console and Hydra audio networking system at the show.
