CBA elects Roberts president
By TVTechnology
published The Community Broadcasters Association has elected Jason Roberts of Equity Broadcasting in Little Rock, AR, as its new president.
Outlining his agenda for the organization, Roberts plans to focus on three issues impacting the vitality of LPTV and Class A broadcasters:
- Cable must-carry for all qualified Class A television stations;
- The statutory right of the conditional reopening of Class A;
- Prompt action on RM-10335. Venture Technologies Group is asking the commission to recognize the validity of network and syndicated exclusivity rights negotiated in the free private marketplace by Class A and LPTV stations.
Additionally, under Roberts’ guidance the CBA will seek the same increased power for high-band VHF compared to low-band VHF channels that benefits full-power stations.
The CBA also has elected Greg Herman of WatchTV in Portland, OR, as vice president and Amy Brown from MTV/2 & The Box Worldwide in Atlanta as secretary/treasurer.
