Combination encoder and multiplexer from Headroom Broadcast streamlines DVB operations
By TVTechnology
published The MTXS from Headroom Broadcast combines MPEG coding and multiplexing for audio broadcast over DVB networks. Each unit consists of a multiplexer and a variable number of encoders or converters built into a 19-inch subrack. These encoders/converters are separate interface modules that can either encode analog or digital audio or convert MPEG-coded audio or a multichannel signal such as Dolby Digital into an ASI-compliant stream. Up to 10 stereo programs can be processed in one subrack, which also contains a controller and redundant power supply.
