DiBcom and SkyCross have announced a collaboration to provide a complete, integrated mobile TV solution compliant with the DVB-H mobile video and DVB-T terrestrial broadcast standards, providing device manufacturers an alternative to current designs requiring an external antenna.
For the collaboration, DiBcom is lending its expertise in enabling low-power mobile TV reception at vehicular speeds exceeding 130m/h, while SkyCross will be offering its knowledge of building embedded antennas for terrestrial video networks as low as 180MHz. The new solution can be applied to a wide range of consumer electronics that require advanced integration, such as mobile handsets, portable multimedia players, portable TV decoders (set-top boxes, integrated LCD TVs), PC cards, notebook computers and ultra-mobile personal computers (UMPCs), which are small tablet PCs for data on the go.
