Doremi servers now feature JPEG2000
Doremi Labs' will unveil the MCS-HD video server at the NAB2005 convention April 18-21, in Las Vegas, NV.
Doremi Labs now offers two new HD video servers using JPEG2000 video compression. This advanced compression technology is integrated into its single and multichannel HD video servers.
JPEG2000 is particularly suited to HD video compression. It can provide two hours of near uncompressed quality video on one SCSI hard drive.
Now shipping is the V1-HD videodisk recorder for one or two channel operations. The V1-HD has several advanced features, including random access, simple video clip and playlist programming. In a film or video mastering environment the V1-HD becomes a multi-format recorder of compressed SD and HD video.
Doremi will also debut its new MCS-HD four-channel HD video server at NAB2005. The MCS-HD features two record and two play independent high-definition video channels with shared storage and selectable compression rates.
The MCS-HD quickly integrates into a facility's existing operations. It features a front panel that mimics familiar VTR controls and is compatible with Odetics and VDCP automation protocols as well as Sony 9-pin machine control. It can record all HD and SD video formats, and can be used with Doremi's ListMaker automation software for video clip and playlist programming with time/date automation for efficient on-air operation.
